Research indicates that the best way to quit smoking and using smokeless tobacco (and stay quit) combines Nicotine Replacement Therapies with individual counseling, peer support services and general lifestyle changes. Even without NRT, the practice of counseling with support and healthy changes is far more effective than quitting 'cold turkey'.
Unlike most programs which focus only on quitting, the QuitSuccess® Program focuses on staying quit. With QuitSuccess®, relapse prevention begins with the initial assessment, and clients are counseled on developing a new healthy identity and lifestyle, complete with social, diet and exercise changes.

Richard K. Nongard, our Executive Director, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an IFPA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, with over 18 years experience working with chemical dependency and substance abuse issues, and training other clinicians how to better help their addicted clients.
